Review "Howl's Moving Castle" - "Il castello errante di Howl" (Book)

Sono stato praticamente stregato della versione cinematografica di Miyazaki (del quale sono un grande fan ed adoro tutti i suoi film) quindi mi sono subito comprato il libro e adesso che ho un blog tutto mio, vi faccio partecipi con una mia breve recensione.

I was practically haunted the film version of Miyazaki (of which I am a big fan and I love all of his movies), so I immediately bought the book and now that I have a blog of my own, I'll participate with a brief review. 

"Il castello errante di Howl" è una sorta di rifacimento di un fantasy in stile favola dove i protagonisti abitano un mondo in cui esiste la magia.

Il libro racconta tutte le avventure della bella e dolce Sophie, primogenita di tre figlie, che è destinata a lavorare e a creare cappelli nella bottega di famiglia, mentre le sue sorelle vivono una vita allegra e spregiudicata, aspirando ai grandi amori.

Un giorno tutto cambiò: la Strega delle Terre Desolate arriva nella bottega e, senza nessun motivo apparente, maledice Sophie trasformandola in una anziana donna molto anziana. Per paura del giudizio dei suoi familiari fugge via finché non incontra il Mago Howl, noto divoratore di cuori di fanciulle, per il quale inizia a lavorare come donna tutto fare.

In generale la trama del romanzo è in buona parte diversa da quella del film, più lunga e intricata, dove mancano alcuni dettagli. Per esempio non c'è alcun riferimento,nel film, al luogo di origine del Mago.

Diana Wynne Jones si riconferma un'autrice fantastica, scrive benissimo e con uno lo stile scorrevole. Si legge tutto d’un fiato, con voglia e col sorriso sulle labbra. La tua mente viene totalmente trasportata dentro le pagine, coinvolgendola nella storia con dettagli curatissimi e facendola diventare essa stessa una protagonista.

Grazie alle mille avventure Sophie possiamo conoscere la sua crescita interiore e la sua presa di coscienza verso un sentimento di amore vero.

"The Howl's Moving Castle" is a kind of remake of a fantasy-style story where the characters live in a world where magic exists. 

The book tells about all the adventures of the beautiful, sweet Sophie, eldest of three daughters, which is intended to work and create hats in the shop of the family, while his sisters live a happy and open-minded, aspiring to great loves. 

One day everything changed: the Witch of the Waste comes into the shop and, for no apparent reason, curses Sophie, transforming it into an elderly woman much older. For fear of the judgment of his family runs away until it meets the Wizard Howl, known devourer of hearts of girls, for whom he began to work as a woman doing everything. 

In general, the plot of the novel is largely different from that of the film, the longer and intricate, where some details are missing. For example there is no reference in the film to the place of origin of the Magician. 

Diana Wynne Jones is an author reconfirms fantastic, writes well and with a style sliding. We read in one breath, with desire and with a smile. Your mind is totally carried in the pages, are involved in the story with details manicured and making it become itself a protagonist. 

Thanks to the many adventures Sophie can know his inner growth and its awareness towards a feeling of true love.
